The Pfizer BioNTech and Moderna have been authorized by the FDA to administer and distribute COVID-19 vaccines to the public. The US Health Department requires two shots of the vaccine to fully realize its benefits. The Pfizer BioNTech administers their COVID-19 vaccine with an interval of 3 weeks or 21 days, while Moderna do theirs after a month or 28 days of getting the first dose.
Although COVID-19 vaccines are now made available, we at Sheriff In-Home Care LLC still believe that we must stay cautious and vigilant to completely win our battle against the deadly COVID-19. Hence, as we continuously serve you with quality care, we placed strict health and safety protocols for our employees and patients and their families.
If any employee, patient, or family member (who has been in contact with the patient or our employees) is experiencing illnesses, whether COVID-19 related or not, they are required to report to our agency and to their healthcare provider immediately. They are also advised to stay home as much as possible and avoid contact with other people.
Every employee and patient is required to undergo COVID-19 checks for any signs and symptoms. If an employee shows any signs of COVID-19 infection, he/she is required to not report for duty, stay home, and update the agency about his/her condition. For patients, they need to inform us as soon as possible so we can take the necessary measures and create a modified plan of care.
Our employees are required to wash their hands, according to the handwashing guideline recommended by the CDC, every before and after handling food items/meals, eating, feeding, contacting a patient, toileting, touching belongings (whether these belongings are from the patient or not), and going in and out of the house and room.
Our employees, patients, and family members are also advised to follow all the health and safety protocols established by health organizations and governing bodies, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization.
